Mandalas

Article about my mandala paintings in the National Art Education Association, NAEA News. Vicki’s Interview, NAEA Aug-Sept 2021

Mandala Series – Paintings and drawings explore the concept of being in the center of our creative universe. The mandala becomes the microcosm and the macrocosm. My intention in creating mandalas is as a meditation tool that can be focused on to reduce stress, promote relaxation, well-being, and inspire creativity. Mandala is Sanskrit for “circle”. Mandalas are concentric geometric designs starting from the center and an art form created in many cultures, used as a meditation tool, and as a form of creative self-expression. This series is inspired by sacred geometry, symbolism, meditation, Tibetan Sand Painting Mandalas, and Carl Jung.
